1. This program runs following operating systems.

-1 What are merits by using DF?

- Especially Text-files can be compressed in nice rate. This is realized by developing original particular compressing algorithm.

- DF is useful to compress many Log-files, Word-files, Excel-files, Access-files and et cetera.

- Speed of extract/compress is fast.

- Equipping easy Graphic User Interface.

- You only drag-and-drop folder and all files in the folder are compressed as a folder. It is very useful function.

- Equipping security system by using password.

- DF can make SelF-eXtracting-archive.

- DF can extract LZH-archive by using UNLHA32.DLL.

- DF can extract ZIP-archive by using UNZIP32.DLL.

- DF can extract RAR-archive by using UNRAR32.DLL and UNRAR.DLL.

- DF can extract CAB-files by using CAB32.DLL.

Caution
UNLHA32.DLL is copyright by Mister "MICCO".
UNZIP32.DLL is copyright by Mister "shoda T".
UNRAR32.DLL is copyright by Mister "TETSUYA KAMEI".
CAB32.DLL is copyright by Mister "KUNIAKI MIYAUCHI".

DF does not contain over DLL-files.
But for certain DLL-files, DF could not extract archive.

2. How to install.

You need not installation process.
All you have to do is to put all files in DF's archive to the folder you like.
For example named "DF".
Detail of setting is explained the latter section.

-1 How to update.

It is very easy. You have only to do is to write new version over old version.

-2. How to uninstall.

You have only to do is to delete all files.

3. How to use.

-1 How to compress.

Start DF and drag-and-drop file or folder you want to compress.
And so YZ1 file is created. This is the compressed archive.

Check "Desktop" of "Make Shortcut" of MENU "Resister", created shortcut in the Desktop.

If you d&d some files to DF, DF compresses files INDIVIDUALLY.
Some archive files are created.

-2 How to extract.

Start DF and drag-and-drop file.
And you get extracted file.

(Illustration is omitted. Compress/Extract Process is the same. )

-3 How to set use SendTo Extension.

In the "Resister" dialog, check "SendTo".

Then you right-click and choose "send" "DF".
You can Compress/Extract file(s) in the spot.

In the MENU;

It is same row with the function keys.

-1-1 Compress

Compress a file.

-1-2 Compress folder

Compress all files in the folder. And output as a file.

-1-3 Extract

Extract a file.

-1-4 EXIT

terminate DF.

You can register *.yz1, *.lzh, *.zip, *.rar, *.cab files to your windows with ease.
Only check in the window "Resister Extensions"

When you register, the icon you checked is changed to And so you can extract the file only double-click.
But when dll-file(s) does not be, can not register.
Please get the dll-file(s).

Attention; If extension has already registered, DF check it and show it in "etc".
This case, if you check "on", later you can return previous setting, but once you check "off", you can not return. Please be carefully.

You can easily make Shortcut to DESKTOP and SendTo-Menu.
Check "on", make Shortcut.
Check "off", delete Shortcut.

-4-1-1 Without Password

Compress files without Password.

-4-1-2 With Password

Compress files with Password.

When you use in using Password, DF asks you Password in compressing process. Password is recorded into compressed file and you need the Password when extract.
If entered Password when extracting is not correct the file is never extracted. Thus using Password preserves your archive file from other people.

Warning; This Password protection don't encode file.
So it is very little possibility Password is broken.
You know, it will be more safety that you use Password complicated characters or having no means or a lot of numbers of characters.

-4-1-3 Public Key type Password (PKP)

Public Key type Password (PKP) is publicity password which is transformed for the sake that if other person see this, cannot recognize correct password.
By using this function, you can utilize "Digital Signature; Ensurrance the data of file" and "Privately communication".

Attention; This type is well known to everybody.(e.g. Pretty Good Privacy)
But DF does not encode but utilize only to password. Please be carefully when use.

-4-2 The type of compressed file

-4-2-1 TYPE extension "YZ1"

This type does not contain extracting program. So file becomes minimum. Contains only data. But when extract this file, need "DeepFreezer.exe" or "yzdec.exe".

-4-2-2 TYPE extension "exe" (SelF-eXtracting-archive)

This type contains extracting program, so when extract need not "DeepFreezer.exe" or "yzdec.exe".
This is useful to send to people who do not have "DeepFreezer.exe" or "yzdec.exe".

CAUTION; When make SFX file, need "yzdec.exe" with "DeepFreezer.exe".

-4-3 Appoint folder where output file will be put into

-4-3-1 The case "output to same folder"

Output to same folder.
This case is better for majority users.

-4-3-2 The case "Output fixed folder"

You can decide the folder output file goes to.

-4-4 Appoint font

Decide font you like.
Please choose font you like.
If your computer is NOTE-TYPE, it is better to use small font.

-4-5 Use check virus program

This function is thrown in.
But you use this in good way, It may be very good advantage for you.
Because usually, Virus invades your computer from files which came from NETWORK. And usually files came from NETWORK are compressed. We don't know either contains viruses or not!

(Your machine is not infected up to extract the file)

And so check immediately when extracting process is done, damage shall minimum. And check before compression shall also effective.

Condition needed;
1. You can use check virus program.
2. Check virus program stays on windows, more safety.
3. Check virus program can start by deciding filename or folder name. A person passes over 3 items will be able to use this function.
Currently I have a little number of Check virus program. The number of test program is two. For the sake of these reasons, I am awfully sorry, usage and detail of this function are NOT published. Please use at your own risk.

-4-6 Permit to run plural DF.

If enable this, you can start plural number of DF.

-4-7 Start Explorer when Extract process is done.

When done, immediately start explorer and open folder output file is.

-4-8 When Compress/Extract process is done, terminated DF automatically.

Automatically terminate DF if you always trouble to terminate DF.
Check this, DF is automatic terminated.

-4-9 Show TOOL BAR

If you want to hide tool bar, check this off.

-4-10 Appoint location in the display when DF starts

Default location is center. But you want to change, first, move window to where you like and then check "set".

5. Attentions and Additions

• DF has the function to compare files.When important file and so on compress, I advise you to confirm.
  The usage is as follows:
  First extract file you want to confirm, at this time make DF output extracted file to folder previous file is.
  Then DF shows message "Write over it?" Choose "No" After shows next message "Do you compare?" Choose "Yes".(When compressed file is made you had better compare.)
  If files are congruent, show message "Match".
  If files contain some errors, show message up to error.
• DF cannot compress all files.
  Specific files cannot be compressed.
  In particular already compressed file.
• If compressed files compress, output file is large more than former.
  Do not compress compressed file.
• Time stamp does not be kept.
• The attribute of file (and folder) does not be kept.
• Empty folder cannot compress.
• According to the amount of memory, compressing rate may change.
  But extracted file is the identical.

#The performance of Deep Freezer

-1 Used soft for measure

When about January 1997, they were on the network.

-2 TEST Machine

AT-PC compatible.
CPU; Pentium 75MHz
RAM; 24 megabytes
CASH; 256kilobytes
HDD; 500megabytes

-3 RATE

Good rate: Category Number 3 is application data.
Good rate: Category Number 4 is text file.
Poor rate: Category Number 7 is BMP file.
Poor rate: Category Number 11 is exe file.

-4 Speed of compressing

Deep Freezer is very good.

#How to use Public Key type Password?

PKP enable you to use Digital Signature and Privately communication by using 2 passwords which called "secret password" the other "public password"

-1 Before using PKP.

First, please make "secret password".
In this manual, I set it "himitu" for explanation.
Next, transform its secret password "himitu" to public password.
For example, if when compress you input "himitu" ,it will be transformed to public password"pub-17c2-92d6-8f".
At the same time, password which will be needed when extract will set "pub-17c2-92d6-8f".


To the contrary, if when compress you input "himitu", password which will be needed when extract will set "pub-17c2-92d6-8f".



These activities compress using certain password and extract using the other password' are basic.
You must not tell any other person this secret password (In this manual, "himitu") and you also publicize it to many people and utilize usefully as PKP.

-2 Digital Signature : Why is this security?

For example, compress with PKP setting; secret password is "himitu". Then public password will be set "pub-17c2-92d6-8f"

And if anyone extract the archive with public password" pub-17c2-92d6-8f" to crash data. After crashed, he/she CAN NOT compress it. Because he/she doesn't know secret password "himitu". So, the data cannot be modified without secret password.
This means warranty of contents of the data.

-3 Privately communication: How do we communicate privately?

Compress with public password.
When this time, use public password of he/she who you want to send data.
If failed and use your own public password" pub-17c2-92d6-8f", receiver cannot extract archive because password which will be needed when extract is set "himitu".

For example, receiver's public password is "pub-xx", you compress data you want to send with that public password "pub-xx".
And so, receiver who is only one can extract the data will extract archive.
This means that if secret password is not known, data will not be able to be extracted by anyone. And receiver can receive Privately Data(s).

Attention:
When use PKP, you need to pay attention not to be known password which used when compress by anyone. And if on the earth password is known, you must not use it.
